Cinnafilm Launches Tachyon LIVE and IPx LIVE: Real-Time, Infrastructure-Agnostic Standards Conversion for Live Sports and Events
Published: December 5th 2025
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – December 5, 2025 – Cinnafilm today announced the immediate availability of IPx LIVE and Tachyon LIVE, delivering broadcast-grade, real-time IP video transcoding and motion-compensated standards conversion for live sports and major events.
Built for the fast-growing live IP video market, IPx LIVE is a powerful transcode engine supporting SMPTE 2110, SRT, NDI, and TR-07. Integrated with Cinnafilm’s award-winning Tachyon technology, it provides artifact-free frame-rate and format conversion, even in high-motion sports.
As software-only solutions, IPx and Tachyon LIVE are infrastructure-agnostic, running in hardware, local virtualized environments, or in the cloud. IPx and Tachyon LIVE free broadcasters from expensive dedicated hardware solutions – reducing costs and enabling on-demand scalability.
“The explosion of live IP streams and diverse viewing devices demands a flexible, uncompromising approach to standards and protocol conversion,” said Lance Maurer, CEO of Cinnafilm. “IPx LIVE and Tachyon LIVE give broadcasters the real-time quality and scalability they need to deliver flawless experiences in the most demanding live environments.”
Key OEM partner swXtch.io has already integrated IPx and Tachyon LIVE into its cloudSwXtch platform. “Adding Tachyon LIVE gives our customers the highest-quality conversions available while fully embracing on-demand cloud infrastructure,” said Brent Yates, CEO of swXtch.io. “It’s a game -changer for live sports and event production.”
IPx LIVE and Tachyon LIVE are available today directly from Cinnafilm and from select Cinnafilm partners including swXtch.io. Tachyon LIVE standards-conversion is also available in the new FRCX-2000 Raptor family of frame-rate converters from Evertz.
