PixelStrings Transcoder (PxS) is the core transcoding engine powering all media conversions in the PixelStrings platform. PixelStrings transcoder is a modern, highly efficient, media file transcoding engine that leverages best-of-breed third-party technology combined with decades of Cinnafilm’s media expertise. The PixelStrings Transcoder goes far beyond simple file conversion, leveraging Cinnfilm’s full suite of video transformation tools, along with audio tools from Skywalker Sound.

What It Does
  • Transcode to and from most professional video file formats including: MXF, QuickTime, MP4, MPEG TS/PS, GXF
  • Support for video codecs including ProRes, DNxHD/HR, MPEG2 XDCAM/IMX, H.264/AVC, DV/DVCPro, JPEG2000 and HEVC
  • Support for PCM, AAC, Dolby Digital Audio
  • Support for embedded 608/708, SCC and XML-based caption / subtitle formats
  • Support for sidecar audio and caption/subtitle files as input and output
