SUPPORT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR DARK ENERGY FOR AFTER EFFECTS
Published: October 20th 2015
Effective immediately, there will be no further support of the Dark Energy plugin for Adobe’s After Effects for revision CC2015 and later. The recent changes to the After Effects architecture do not work with our unique requirements for operation, and re-designing the plugin to accommodate these changes is not an option for us. Because Adobe has made these architectural changes to After Effects, the plugin will only be available for purchase through December 1, 2015; afterwards it will no longer be available for sale.
More information for Cinnafilm Dark Energy for After Effects
If you purchased the After Effects plugin on or since the CC2015 release announcement (June 16, 2015), you are entitled to full refund if you choose. If you purchased our plugin prior to the release of CC2015 (June 16, 2015), there are no refunds as sales are final, and we had no indication that the changes would create this incompatibility.
It has been a fun and rewarding three years since we first released this plugin in 2012. Hearing about how so many have benefited from this amazing science has been a joy to experience. Ultimately, our company remains dedicated to solving the hardest image processing problems in the industry and making the best looking images possible. Sometimes, this type of focus just doesn’t translate well into commodity toolsets that change periodically.
Feel free to let Adobe know (https://helpx.adobe.com/contact/what-contact-options.html) if you feel they should put Dark Energy into their standard offering – who knows, maybe they will listen and work with us to include it in their incredible suite of technology. In the meantime, if you want to benefit from the unmatched results Dark Energy creates, we recommend having an older version of Adobe around in your tool box.
Thank you again,
The Team at Cinnafilm
